Erie General Electric Federal Credit Union is dedicated to maintaining the privacy of each member's financial records consistent with state and federal laws.
1.The credit union will use prudent and reasonable measures to protect the accuracy and privacy of all member information, including information used while conducting business via the Internet, ATM networks, telephone, wire services, mail, and other means of communication.
Article XVI, Section 2 of Erie General Electric Federal Credit Union's bylaws requires its officers, directors, members of committees, and employees to hold in confidence all transactions of this credit union with its members and all information respecting their personal affairs, except when permitted by state or federal law.
2. In accordance with the above, our bylaws authorize participation with credit reporting agencies to facilitate making member loans and guaranteeing member share-drafts. The information provided to credit reporting agencies is protected by federal law and its use is strictly governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
3. In accordance with the Privacy Regulations of the National Credit Union Administration (12 CFR § 716) this credit union will provide a privacy notice disclosure to our membership once every twelve month period (defined as January through December).
* The privacy notice disclosure will be compliant with all existing privacy rules and regulations.
* The privacy notice disclosure will also be given to all new members when they join the credit union.
* If any member 'opts out' of any sharing of information that they are legally entitled to opt out from, the following will occur: the member's written or oral request will be forwarded to the Operations Manager; the Operations Manager will evaluate, log, and file the request and forward the request to any and all affected departments; the department managers will work in conjunction with each other, from that time forward, to ensure the excluding of the sharing of member information to any applicable outside contact.
* This office will create and maintain a roster of our outside contacts(including, but not limited to vendors, businesses, other financial offices, processors, select employee groups) and will request and file a copy of the privacy policies of those contacts agencies.
4. If any member provides personal identifying information via e-mail (such as name and address), the information will only be used to communicate with the member in handling the request. It will not be sold, given, or disclosed to other parties.
5. The information contained on any web site to which a member 'links' from our web site is solely the responsibility of the provider of that web site.
6. Appropriate staff will be informed of existing privacy laws and will be trained to adequately handle member inquires and directives.
7. Erie General Electric Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell or provide member information to third parties for purposes inconsistent with the credit union's bylaws. |
